METHODISM WAS BORN IN SONG….

This is the first line of the Preface of our much-loved Methodist Hymn Book. Methodists are Christians easily distinguishable by one trait, the love for Hymns, which incidentally are Songs of Praise. Methodism has been blessed with Giants in Hymnology like thee Rev. Charles Wesley, Isaac Watts and Fanny Crosby. With Hymns covering every sphere of Christian life, Methodists can afford to sing knowing that “He who sings prays twice.”

Members of The Methodist Church Ghana have always been led in singing by Choirs, Singing Bands and lately Singing Groups who led what is now known as ‘Praise and Worship’ Sessions. However the role of the Choir in each Society cannot be underestimated as they lead and guide each Society in singing of Hymns, Canticles and Responses all very important parts of Methodist Liturgy.
